A free engineering reference site publishing dimensional, material and conversion data compiled from published standards. There is no account system, no login and no user-generated content.
Like most websites, the server and any analytics service record standard technical information when a page is loaded: the page requested, the referring page, an approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and the time of the request. This is aggregate information used to understand which pages are useful and to detect abuse.
This site sets one category of cookie — analytics — and only if you agree to it. On your first visit a banner asks whether to accept; nothing is written to your device until you answer.
Google Analytics 4 is used to count visits and understand which pages are useful. It is loaded with Consent Mode: every storage category is denied by default, so no cookie is written and no identifier is created unless you accept.
If you reject, Google Analytics still receives a cookieless, aggregated page view — no identifier, and no tracking across other websites. The page counts in this mode are approximate, which is an acceptable trade for collecting nothing without consent.
Analytics data is not used to identify individuals and is not sold or shared for marketing purposes.
Cookies can be blocked or deleted through your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not prevent you from using the site — the reference data remains fully available. Most browsers also offer a private browsing mode that discards cookies at the end of the session.
Requests concerning personal data — access, correction or deletion — can be sent to contact@refmanual.com. Since the site has no accounts and stores nothing tied to an individual, most such requests resolve to a confirmation that no data is held.
This site is a technical reference and is not directed at children. No information is knowingly collected from children.
